The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced comprehensive ‘Return to Play Post-Pregnancy’ guidelines on June 22, 2026; designed to support female cricketers in returning to professional sports following maternity leave.

This initiative was introduced in light of the growing prominence and competitiveness of women's cricket, notably highlighted during the recent ongoing Women's T20 World Cup.

The new policy aims to ensure that women athletes are given adequate time and support to recover and return into professional sport post-pregnancy without jeopardizing their career progression or selection opportunities.
