Mahila Manovikas, a community group, has created a 13-km long crochet tricolour (tiranga) bunting as a bid to enter the Guinness World Records, the longest chain of Crochet bunting, in Visakhapatnam. The project brought together 330 participants from different generations who contributed to the crafting of the extensive bunting.
The effort serves not only as an attempt to set a new record but also as a celebration of traditional handicrafts and national symbols. The crochet tiranga bunting represents India's flag colors and showcases coordination and dedication among the participants.
Organisers emphasised the significance of such initiatives in promoting cultural heritage while fostering community engagement.
This event reflects a blend of artistry, teamwork, and national pride, marking it as a notable cultural undertaking ahead of official verification by Guinness World Records authorities.
