Contractual employees of the state-owned Punjab Roadways have announced a three-day strike in August (from 3rd till 5th of August), on Friday (24th July).
The Punjabi Roadways, Punbus and PRTC contract worker's Union launched a scathing attack on the APP government, alleging that despite nearly 70 rounds of discussions over the past four years, the administration has failed to address their long pending demands, as the centre before coming into power had promised the contractual employees to abolish the contract system and ensure full salaries.
Prior to the strike, rallies are scheduled at all depots across Punjab on July 27 as part of the agitation.
