Britain's newly appointed PM Andy Burnham has retained Kanishka Narayan, (born in Muzaffarpur, Bihar he moved to Cardiff, wales when he was 12 yeras old) as the Minister of AI, while also elevating the AI portfolio to a cabinent-level-position, underscoring the government's renewed focus on AI and digital innovation.
Emphasising the urgency of the AI race, Narayan asserts that the nation have only a limited opportunity to determine wether they will shape AI or be shaped by it. He confrims that Britain is currently in that decisive phase and pledged to act with speed and ambition to strengthen the country's influence in shaping the future of AI.
Expressing gratitude, Narayan credited the nation which welcomed a 12-year old boy and his family, opening the doors of opportunity that led him to become the nation's first ethnic minority MP (July 2024) and now earn a place in the Cabinent.
