Due to potential flight cancellations, airspace closures, and route changes, U.S. citizens in the region are advised to consider leaving immediately or be ready to depart at a moment’s notice, while those outside should defer non-essential travel.
The advisory warns that Iran and aligned groups may target U.S. interests, military/diplomatic sites, and commercial businesses globally, specifically flagging Gulf nations (UAE, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain) and Levant regions (Israel, Jordan, Iraq, Egypt). All citizens abroad are urged to monitor flight updates and enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) for emergency tracking and real-time alerts.
