The Imphal–Dimapur–Guwahati public transport service resumed after nearly three years, marking a significant step towards restoring normalcy and connectivity in Manipur following a prolonged crisis. On the first day, 125 passengers travelled across two buses and five wingers. This route links Imphal in Manipur, Dimapur in Nagaland, and Guwahati in Assam, providing a crucial inter-state transport connection.
The vehicles passed through Kangpokpi, a Kuki-inhabited district, and Senapati, a Naga-inhabited district, highlighting the reopening of movement among communities. The service resumed after National Highways were reopened for free movement of people from all communities. This restoration of public transport is viewed as a positive move to enhance mobility and reconnect people after the crisis-induced disruption.
Passenger Kiyam Kumarjit Singh from Thoubal district thanked the state government for the initiative. He expressed hope that this renewed journey would foster love, peace, and harmony among communities and urged people to move forward by forgiving and forgetting the past. The service's resumption is seen not only as a transport development but also as a symbol of renewed connectivity, public movement, and efforts towards normalcy in Manipur.
