The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed its second charge sheet in the Reliance Home Finance Limited (RHFL) loan fraud case, naming 11 accused, including three former executives from the Reliance ADA Group.
The agency alleges that ₹7,429 crore borrowed by RHFL was diverted, making fund diversion a key focus of the probe. The charge sheet was submitted to a special court in Mumbai and names Amit Bapna, then Director and CFO of RHFL; Amitabh Jhunjhunwala, then Group MD and Vice-Chairman of Reliance Capital Limited; and Suresh Nagarajan, then CFO of Reliance Power Limited.
This filing advances the CBI's ongoing investigation into alleged financial irregularities and governance issues related to RHFL's finances. The Reliance ADA Group has not issued an immediate response to the charges. The investigation continues, with further legal proceedings anticipated as the case progresses through the courts. The CBI’s allegations remain to be proven, and filing a charge sheet does not establish guilt.
