As per official data on July 24, the water level at the Doyang Hydroelectric Project reservoir in Nagaland increased from 322.99 meters at 8:00 a.m. to 323.16 meters by 1:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, the flood situation had already turned critical in parts of Golaghat district, with several rivers flowing above the danger mark. The Dhansiri River at Numaligarh breached its danger level, reaching 78.99 meters against the prescribed limit of 78.42 meters. Similarly, the Kakodonga River at Difluting climbed to 88.19 meters, exceeding its danger level of 87.50 meters and intensifying concerns over further flooding in downstream areas of Assam.
In response to the rising reservoir levels, authorities have further widened the opening of all four spillway gates. The reservoir is currently releasing approximately 209 cubic meters of water per second through the spillways to regulate the increasing inflow.
