Indian shooter Neeru Dhanda won the gold medal in the women's trap individual final at the 2026 Asian Games on September 29, 2026. Hitting 28 of her 30 targets in the six-series final, Dhanda set an Asian Games record score to outperform China’s Sun Yunong (26/30) and Kuwait’s Hajar Abdulmalik (21/30). The victory marked India's fifth gold medal of the Aichi-Nagoya Games and its first achieved in an individual event, after four previous gold wins came in team and mixed-team disciplines.
Earlier in the day, Dhanda advanced to the individual final after finishing joint-top in the 125-shot qualification round with a score of 118. Her qualification performance, combined with contributions from teammates Aashima Ahlawat (106) and Manisha Keer (104), earned India a total score of 328 to secure the silver medal in the women's trap team competition behind China (346). The double-podium finish brought India's total medal count in shooting at the Games to 14.
