India to Host Inaugural ICC Women’s Champions Trophy in February 2027

The International Cricket Council (ICC) officially confirmed on September 2, 2026, that India will stage the first-ever ICC Women’s Champions Trophy from February 14 to 28, 2027. The tournament was originally awarded to Sri Lanka, but the ICC Board relocated the event after evaluating competing proposals from India, Bangladesh, and South Africa due to ongoing governance and administrative reforms within Sri Lanka Cricket.

All 16 matches of the T20-format competition will take place across two major venues: the Cricket Club of India in Mumbai and the Vadodara International Cricket Stadium.

Six nations—Australia, England, India, New Zealand, South Africa, and Sri Lanka—secured qualification based on the official ICC T20I rankings cutoff. The top two sides from the round-robin group stage will compete in the final on February 28.
