East Zone captain Ishan Kishan delivered a monumental performance, scoring 270 runs off 334 balls in the Duleep Trophy 2026 final against South Zone at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Hit with 30 boundaries and seven sixes, his marathon knock propelled East Zone to a massive first-innings total of 708. Kishan broke multiple long-standing records during his innings, surpassing Dinesh Karthik's 183 to post the highest individual score by a wicketkeeper and a captain in a Duleep Trophy final. Additionally, he became the first batter from East Zone to score a double century in the summit clash of the competition. His score stands as the second-highest individual score in a Duleep Trophy final history, trailing only Raman Lamba's historic 320.
