Security forces initiated a search operation following the sighting of a suspected drone along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir. The drone-like object, equipped with a blinking light, was reportedly observed flying over the forward villages of Meenka and Beripattan in the Sunderbani sector late on July 5, 2026.
Authorities are investigating the nature and intent of the drone, given the sensitive security situation along the LoC. The search aimed to locate and neutralize any potential threats posed by unauthorized aerial incursions in the border region.
However, officials said they found nothing suspicious during the operation.
