Cygni Energy and Indus Towers have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate on energy-storage solutions for India's telecom infrastructure. This partnership aims to address the evolving energy needs of telecom sites, ensuring reliable power supply for uninterrupted network operations.
A key aspect of the collaboration is exploring Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) manufacturing capacity of up to 1.5 GWh. This capacity would support the development of energy-storage solutions tailored to telecom infrastructure requirements, enhancing power supply reliability and efficiency across sites. The initiative highlights the growing role of advanced energy-storage technologies in telecom.
BESS helps by providing stored power when needed and enabling more efficient energy management. Cygni Energy, an energy-storage technology and manufacturing company, and Indus Towers, a major telecom tower infrastructure firm, aim to align energy-storage capabilities with large-scale telecom infrastructure needs.
The proposed 1.5 GWh manufacturing capacity underscores a strong commitment to building energy-storage capability for telecom applications. This effort is expected to promote sustainable and reliable energy management, helping telecom infrastructure adapt to changing power demands and greater integration of cleaner energy sources.
