Defending champions India made a resounding statement at the Men's Hockey Junior Asia Cup 2026 in China, crushing Indonesia 14-0 in their opening match on Saturday. The dominant offensive display was powered by Prabhdeep Singh with five goals, Captain Anmol Ekka with four, and Ajeet Yadav contributing three.

On the same day, the Indian women's junior team also kicked off their tournament campaign in strong fashion by defeating South Korea 4-1. Both victories give India early control in their respective group stages as both continental events unfold simultaneously in China.
