A novel chewing gum specifically designed to combat cancer-causing agents has been shown to reduce human papillomavirus (HPV) levels by as much as 93%, according to a recent scientific study. The treatment also almost completely eliminated two types of bacteria connected to the development of head and neck cancers.

Importantly, the gum's formulation targeted harmful microorganisms while preserving the beneficial bacteria naturally present in the mouth. This selectivity raises hopes that the therapy could offer a safer approach compared to existing preventative methods.

The researchers emphasize that this innovative chewing gum could represent a significant advancement in oral cancer prevention, potentially providing an accessible and cost-effective option. Clinical trials are ongoing to further evaluate its efficacy and safety in larger populations.
