  3. Customers can continue executing low-value digital payments seamlessly during the maintenance window using UPI Lite services.

State Bank of India (SBI), the nation's largest public sector lender, notified customers that its Unified Payments Interface (UPI) services will experience a brief downtime on October 3, 2026. The 45-minute disruption is scheduled to begin at 12:15 AM (00:15 hrs) and conclude at 1:00 AM (01:00 hrs) to facilitate essential system maintenance work.

The bank clarified that while the activity is slated for 45 minutes, operations could resume earlier if technical tasks are completed ahead of schedule. To minimize inconvenience to account holders making digital transactions during the late-night window, SBI advised customers to utilize UPI Lite, which remains fully operational for low-value payments without relying on real-time core banking systems.
