The Delhi government has announced strict enforcement of the "No PUCC (Pollution Under Control Certificate), No Fuel" policy starting October 1 across the Delhi-NCR region. This initiative will be applied in "mission mode" at all 500 fuel stations equipped with Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras.

The system will verify whether vehicles have a valid PUCC before allowing refuelling, aiming to reduce air pollution caused by non-compliant vehicles. Fuel stations that do not comply with the mandate will face penalties, as announced by officials.

The move is part of Delhi's larger effort to combat rising pollution levels and promote cleaner vehicular emissions. The ANPR technology facilitates real-time checking of vehicle pollution compliance, helping enforce environmental norms efficiently at fuel pumps.
